DOES YOUR LAWN REALLY NEED ALL THAT WATER?
The answer to this is simple. Most people believe that in order to get a nice green lawn all they have to do is water more, but that is not the case. You might be wasting more water than you need to and may actually risk harming your lawn with so much water. Fertilizing is the key to watering less. When you fertilize you bring nutrients into the lawn that make it more resistant to the dry, hot Texas weather, and on top of that it makes the grass healthier and greener! This is why it is so important to fertilize correctly!
SHOULD YOUR LAWN BE MOWED SHORT?
No no no and no! The only time you’ll want to bring that mower down is at the beginning of the season, usually sometime in March. This is especially true for Bermuda lawns since it needs a low cut for the new spring grass to come up nice and fresh. As soon as you get those first low cuts in you will want to start raising up the mower and remember this; another key to a healthy green lawn is cutting the least amount possible as frequently as possible. This allows the roots to establish much better and will lead to a much healthier and beautiful lawn.
